Chapter 15

Sacha’s Paris Home, Earth Realm

“The walls to the Tria’s prison haven’t weakened,” P growled while looking at the mess they’d been left with. His father had seemed pretty fucking sure the Tria weren’t getting out, but that didn’t stop P from mentally checking and now rechecking to ensure there really were no cracks.

That prison held a portion of P’s life force, so he could sense it.

“It’s holding,” Drake ground out in agreement, but smoke was filtering from his lips up to the high ceilings. P felt just as uneasy and angered at the display they’d just witnessed.

Uri and Alex appeared, and P glanced over, knowing Drake would’ve called them there.

He ran a hand over his head, remembering Sacha and Hades’ exit. That was one more thing that hadn’t been right. Why would they go into a frenzy now? But she’d looked pained and his father seemed like a wild rutting beast. He could understand adrenaline burn-off, but that was not what they’d seen.

P wasn’t sure what the hell that meant, but if he never saw his father’s dick again, it would be too damned soon.

Uri’s silver eyes swirled as he looked at the mess of damaged humans. As the only Aletheia Guardian, a race known for their mental abilities, he’d always handled memory extraction or alterations as needed. His Demi-Goddess mate added her own unique powers with their mating bond, so checking the humans’ memories should be simple for the two. P wanted answers as to how or why Deimos decided to speak through a demon soul. He wasn’t sure they’d learn anything from the humans’ memories, but they had to attempt it.

Alex stood with her hands on her denim-clad hips. “What happened?”

“Hades happened,” Drake growled.

Both silver and sapphire gazes shot up to Drake, but Uri was the first to speak. “Shit. He can fucking harm humans?”

Drake shook his head while explaining to the two what his father had said about ripping the demons souls free.

P glanced at the humans in disgust; only the worst of the race could be possessed. The mortals were in bad shape; the demon souls would have been pushing the bodies past their limits. Though he guessed the boosts in strength and speed were only part of it. The Guardians had no idea what the demon itself did to the host, only that possessed generally died within weeks of possession. Which still wasn’t soon enough, in his fucking opinion.

Uri’s other brow lifted. “If Hades can do that, then dealing with possessed just got a whole lot fucking easier.” Uri was right. Guardians couldn’t kill humans, so they were forced to contain possessed until they died. And the demon was released back to Hell for the Tria to send them all over again. It was never ending.

Neither P nor Drake answered, they only nodded. He wasn’t so sure his father was in any shape to be useful at the moment.

“See if you can read anything from these assholes’ memories,” Drake bit out, but Uri and Alex were already heading to the first body.
